20th January 2018
2018 marks the 40-year anniversary of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras! To celebrate the festival, 17 days have been jammed filled with events. Fair Day is kicking off the fun Sunday the 18th February and The Aperture Club will be there.
Fair Day is filled with colour, love and a diversity of cultural significance. If any community knows how to celebrate and have fun whilst tirelessly thinking of the rights of others then this is the one!
To join the celebrations the Poetic Witness – our 5-hr Newtown Street photography workshop – will be held at Fair Day on Sunday the 18th of Feb.
The genre of street photography is not straightforward. A good street photographer has learnt to develop their 6th sense and predict an action in advance of it happening.
Victoria Park will be filled to the brim with happy and adventurous people from every country across the globe. What a fantastic opportunity to improve your observation skills and practice, practice, practice… as you encounter drag queens in all corners of the festival grounds! Start those cameras clicking as Sydney’s most fabulous doggies strut their stuff for a Gold Logie in the Doggywood competition.
A festival filled with families, youngsters, oldies, muzo’s, doggies, polies, coppers and so much more. This is Street Art at its best! Our specialist Street Photographer Dan is counting down the days to this wonderful event.
Come and join us for a fun filled workshop and under Dan’s guidance come away with some memorable stories of the day.
See you there!
